Dallas police hold traffic stop simulation for students with learning disabilities
Dallas Academy and the Dallas Police Department will host a traffic stop simulation on Saturday to give student drivers with learning disabilities practice interacting with police officers and help lower their anxiety. The Dallas Academy, a private school that serves students with learning disabilities, will hold a traffic stop simulation at the school on Saturday. Students, including students on the autism spectrum, will learn about what it's like to be pulled over and how to communicate with police officers. The simulation aims to prepare students for such situations in case they ever encounter them again. Elizabeth Murski, the head of school at Dallas Academy hopes to have a second simulation involving other schools with a neurodiverse population.
