a suburban city in Texas

Arlington is a city located in the metropolitan area of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in Prairie, Texas and the lake. Estimated to be over 359,000, it is the 7th largest city in Texas and the 3rd largest city in the Metroplex. Arlington is located to the south of the sprawling DFW International Airport.

understanding

The city was founded in 1875 and named after Lee's Arlington House (present-day Arlington County, Virginia). After the railway came to Japan in 1876, Arlington grew as the center of cotton spinning and agriculture in 1884. By 1910, along with the public school system, the company was able to boast water, electricity, natural gas and telephone services. The population is estimated to be 3,031 by 1925, and it grew to over 4,000 before World War II.

In 1954, with the arrival of General Motors' assembly plant, large-scale industrialization began. Between 1950 and 1990, Automotive and Aerospace Development made the city one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Arlington became one of the "boom burgers" that spread to the suburbs quite rapidly after the war. The U.S. Census Bureau's demographic statistics tell the story: 7,692 (1950), 90,229 (1970), 261,721 (1990), and 365,438 (2010). The DFW Airport was opened in 1974 and has also contributed to unparalleled growth in the area.

Plane

Major U.S. airlines and many international airlines offer scheduled passenger service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, about 12 miles north of Arlington, Hoy. 360.

by train

  • In Dallas/Fort Worth, there are two routes between San Antonio and Chicago in Texas Eagle, and between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City in Hartland Fryer. The nearest stations are Dallas, Fort Worth and Cleburn.
  • The Trinity Railway (TRE) runs between Dallas and Fort Worth along the border in northern Arlington City. The nearest station is CentrePort/DFW Airport.

by car

It's useful for major highways, but if you come by car, you're likely to get through a big interstate highway. To the south of the town is East/West Interstate 20. The North/South Interstate 35, which is divided into the East (35E) and West (35W) highways near Wako, is within the limits of several miles in the city.

by bus

Turimex Internacional, a cross-border bus that crosses Mexico's border across borders, has a bus stop at Sherry St. 2105 in Arlington.

Arlington had a Greyhound bus terminal but it closed in 2011.

walk around

To travel in Arlington, you basically need a car. The city doesn't run public transportation.

Those who stay at hotels in Arlington connect major hotels with local eating and drinking facilities (downtown Arlington, Six Flags Theme Park, Texas Rangers Stadium, etc.), except for the free shuttle bus Arlington Trolley. The front of the participating hotel can provide a path to use the service.

keep ~ safe

Arlington is generally a safe town, but Darwarsington Park, Pantego and north of IH-30 are more developed and safer than in other areas. Along the IH-30, six flags from Texas, Hurricane Harbor Water Park, Rangers Ball Park in Arlington, and the new Dallas Cowboys stadium are located in a comfortable, modern location. The area is being industrialized and degraded as it moves south. It is wise not to walk through East Arlington at night. The "dangerous zone" is basically surrounded by IH-30 in the north, IH-20 in the south, Cooper Street/FM157 in the west, and State Hwy in the west. Number 360 in the east.

Parkes and the new Arlington Highland Mall, Arlington's main shopping center, to the north of the IH-20, are home to numerous restaurants and shops as well as a crowded, human-friendly neighborhood.

If you visit the campus of UTarlington during the day, do not cause any problems. However, attacks and robberies after hours (even before sunset) are not uncommon in the outskirts of the campus, especially in the southern and eastern areas. As I mentioned before, West Arlington (Darwarsington Gardens Pantego) is a very safe area, though most of it is a residential area.
